Catch Up With A Cop 👮‍♀️

Next Wednesday January 8th, Maclean District Business Chamber will host a Catch Up with a Cop event from 10am to 11:30am in McLachlan Park under the gazebo in River St, Maclean. Superintendent Joanne Schultz will be present to discuss your experiences and concerns with her. Community members are invited to attend and share what our community needs to feel safe and thrive.

Light Plan Tragedy at Palmers Island

An experienced pilot, 67 year old Coffs Harbour real estate agent Jim Auld, has died in a light plane crash at Palmers Island near Yamba on Sunday. His adult son, Robert, was injured in the crash and has undergone spinal surgery in a Queensland hospital. A request to investigate the cause of the crash has been submitted to Recreational Aviation Australia.

Toddler Fire Pit Accident

At around 6:00pm on Monday, 30 December 2024, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to an infant who had fallen into a fire pit at Illuka near Yamba. The child was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team for burns before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital.

Iluka Piglet Races: The Iluka Woombah Rotazry Club are hosting their annual races fundraising day starting at 12pm today at Club Iluka. Piggie races, food trucks, petting zoo and more. Bring a picnic blanket and chair, no dogs allowed.

Friday

Grafton Summer Fair: Get ready for a spectacular Summer evening of live music, mouthwatering food from around the globe, and endless fun on carnival rides and games for the kids and young at heart. Friday 3rd January from 4pm to 10pm at the Grafton Showgrounds - $2 entry at the gate.

Saturday

Dreams - Fleetwood Mac Tribute Show: Come and enjoy the closest you’ll get to the iconic band with Dreams performing this Saturday 4th January at Yamba Bowling Club from 8pm. Tickets are available online at the door.

Sunday

Thirsty Merc - Electric Summer Tour: Expect a jam-packed setlist of hit songs and crowd singalongs this Sunday 5th January at Yamba Bowling Club from 6:30pm. Tickets are available online or at the door.

Sunday Fun Days: Bring the kids down to Maclean Bowling Club every Sunday from 5th January to 26th January for free activities including crafts, face painting, balloon animals and more between 3pm and 5pm.

Akmal - Red Flags: Comedian Akmal will be performing live at Sanctus Brewing Co next Wednesday 8th January from 6pm for his new show Red Flags. Tickets are available now.

Illusionist Anthony Street: Step into a world of wonder with Illusionist Anthony Street, in a thrilling magic show at the Saraton Theatre next Wednesday 8th January at 2pm. Tickets are available now.
