Quick News đź“°

Whooping Cough Cases Rise

Pregnant women, parents, people in contact with young babies and the elderly are advised to watch for symptoms and get vaccinated as whooping cough cases rise across Australia and recent spikes in cases in the Clarence Valley.

Coastal Emu Chicks Have Hatched!

A recent discovery of an endangered Coastal Emu nest in a logging zone has turned into good news with logging operations now ceased in the area and reports that the emu chicks have hatched. Ten eggs were found at the site, with seven removed to be hatched in incubation and two eggs hatched successfully by daddy Emu.

Grafton’s Tent City Growing

The number of tents, tarps and makeshift shelters in one of Grafton’s neglected parks at the city entrance have been noticably growing as housing affordability worsens in the valley. With nowhere else to turn, homeless communities continue to grow in the region with smaller sites popping up in and around our other towns in the Clarence Valley.
