Missing: Lionel Gardiner

Lionel Gardner, aged 53, was last seen at McLaughlin Park pontoon, near River and John streets, Maclean, from about 8pm on Saturday (21 December 2024).

Lionel is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 180cm tall, of large build, with long brown hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a yellow and blue “Parramatta Eels” t-shirt and grey or black tracksuit pants.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Grafton Police Station or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.

Missing: Nicholas Eastman

Nicholas Eastman, aged 55, was last seen entering bushland on Spur Road, Pillar Valley, approximately 30km south east of Grafton, about 1am on Friday 13 December 2024, after his vehicle became stuck.

Nicholas is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 183cm tall, of a large build, with brown dreadlocks and blue eyes.

Anyone with information into Nicholas’ whereabouts is urged to call Grafton Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

McLachlan St, Maclean Redesign

After community feedback, the revised plans for Maclean’s McLachlan St redesign have been released. Changes now include:

A formal bus bay will be along Argyle St to provide a safe drop-off point for school & community buses to access the Maclean Olympic Pool
The proposed kerb extension at the unmarked crossing on McLachlan St has been replaced with a kerb ramp near the intersection, connecting to the pool and Argyle St footpath
The existing footpath will be extended along Argyle St, connecting to the footpath at Centenary Drive and Argyle St
The kerb build-out at the intersection, including the 'No Entry' will be extended along McLachlan St to replace the on-road section and create a shared path for pedestrians and cyclists traveling along McLachlan St

NEW YEARS EVE

🥤 Food Truck Festival: Head out to Iluka Club in Spencer Street for a food truck festival with food, drinks and entertainment until 12:30am. Photo ID required, 10pm lockout.

🎇 Yamba Fireworks: Fireworks will be visible from Main Beach at midnight to welcome in the New Year.

🎭 Masquerade Party: Head to South Grafton Ex-Services Club for a New Year masquerade party with your best best. Enjoy live music, photobooth, special menu and prizes to bring in the new year. Tickets $10 each, kicking off from 7pm.

NEW YEARS DAY

🛍️ Twilight Market Yamba: Come and enjoy our annual Twilight Markets, plenty of stalls to browse, some good food and fun times. Please remember a gold coin, which Rotary uses to support our community. Starts 4pm in Coldstream St, Yamba.
